Picture your Knits (Intarsia)

Instructor: Alissa Barton       Class Capacity: 25
Class Level: Advanced Beginner/ Intermediate

Description ~ Picture your Knits (Intarsia)

Welcome to Intarsia, Intarsia is the art of changing colors within your knitting to create a picture without adding to the thickness of the knitting. In true intarsia, the colors are never carried. Yes, there are a lot of tails, don't worry - we will talk about how to deal with the shag on the back and the finished product will be worth the extra effort! We will be working small samples in this class to explore changing colors in straight lines, diagonals, rounded edges and florals to create pictures within your knitting. You do not need to be an expert knitter to work intarsia, you just have to be willing! You can use intarsia to add a picture into any kind of project to add a very personal touch.
